Lucia Baumgartner

Artistic Director and Choreographer
Lucía Baumgartner has spent her childhood in various swiss cantons, spanish regions and in Africa. While studying to be a teacher, she discovered Modern Dance. She then studied at the London Contemporary Dance School, where she obtained a Master of Arts degree in choreography in 1998. She is trained in a number of contemporary dance and theatre styles. Her other interests include yoga, shiatsu, climbing and swimming.
Since 1999 she has been artistic director of the inFlux company.

Her itinerant lifestyle has been a dominant influence since her childhood and has helped her in various projects in Switzerland and abroad. She participated with inFlux in festivals and has given workshops in Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Kosovo, South Africa, Mozambique, Mexico and Venezuela.

Her philosophy of dance is influenced by various other art forms aswell as psychology.

Her creations combine mediterranean temperament with swiss sobriety.
