Comissioned work for the «Compañía Danzaluz», Venezuela
Two world seemingly collide: the company’s own, familiar movement vocabulary with unfamiliar movement styles, defying gravity collides with giving into gravity. Pas de Deux meets Partnering. This new world of movement style permeates the company virtually as the unknown (Forastero). In the depth (Fondo) lies the insight that this world of movement vocabulary simply had to be discovered. This is how the until now neglected stage floor becomes the primal focus and centre of attraction. The opposing forces continue to come forth in the music: Yodel meets a Venezuelan rhythm.
